Previously, I never associated 15 April (Tax Day) with 25 December (Christmas). The two seem pretty unrelated to me – that said, there is ONE thing about Tax Day that I would like to “borrow” and apply to Christmas:
I need to file an extension!!!
Yup – you know, the same way you can extend the deadline to file your taxes? I’d like to be able to apply for an “extension” for Christmas. Truth is, I need about two-four more weeks to get ready… The punch list/timeline I prepared? The one that detailed my ten day Christmas countdown? I am already a day behind. Ugh. I know it is probably too soon to “grade” my efforts but, for now? It’s not looking great.
I still have packages to wrap and holiday cards to send, a big time party this weekend plus – and here is the flaw in my planning – my FAMILY Christmas celebration is 23 December, so my ten day plan was two days behind when I created it. Yessir, an “F” for sure…
All kidding – and anxiety – aside, I know it will all get done. Maybe that is how Christmas is “supposed to be” after all. Joyful. Busy. Manic. I mean, it’s like the lyrics to the song “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” suggests:
“It’s the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you “Be of good cheer”
It’s the most wonderful time of the year
It’s the hap- happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings
When friends come to call
It’s the hap- happiest season of all!”
I am especially looking forward to some “gay happy meetings.” I could use some chill time with my besties…
